In the recent past Samsung, Beko and Bosch have also had fridges and dishwashers that have also been catching fire. To this day not all of these appliances have been modified or had a safety check as most customers have not been traced.

That still leaves in the UK alone over half a million of these appliances still in our homes at the risk of catching fire. Please see below some useful links to news bulletins and manufacturer website.

GENERAL SAFETY ADVICE

It goes without saying the most important piece of advice we can give you is never ever leave any appliance on when you’re not at home or running overnight when you go to bed. Even when you do operate any appliance make sure you keep an eye on them and always turn them off after use. Obviously the good old reliable fridge freezer is the exception so just make sure they are regularly serviced and safety checked.

If you have a Samsung fridge freezer make sure you have had the all-important PCB modification that Samsung carried out a few years ago. Again because of fire risk problems they had. Please contact Samsung or us with your model and serial number so we can check this modification has been done. If you are in any doubt about the safety of any of your appliances, then please ring our engineer help and advice line on 09131 30024 or if you need it checked over or serviced by one of our engineers then please book a service call appointment on 02392 987262
